The LoBianco family’s journey began when Tony immigrated from Sicily to New York City in 1954. After learning auto repair, he married Angela in 1961 and established a successful business. In 1973, they moved to Kingston, where Tony entered the food industry. Over the past 43 years, they have opened numerous restaurants across the region.
More than 20 years ago, Tony and his children, Joey and Angela, launched Dutchess County’s first restaurant brewery, Hyde Park Brewing Company, which remains a prominent Hudson Valley brewery. In 2014, they expanded by adding a brewing system to Angela’s restaurant in Catskill, creating Rip Van Winkle Brewing Company. This brewery focuses on local ingredients and offers off-premise sales. It has earned accolades, including Silver and Bronze medals in 2017 and was named Best in New York State for its Munich Helles style beer.
