Mahoney’s Irish Pub & Steakhouse located at 35 Main Street in Poughkeepsie is a traditional Irish pub that offers authentic Irish hospitality and good food, was established in 2004 in a historic building that was previously the original Vassar Brewery. The pub boasts two levels of dining and full-service bars, with the lower level featuring 23 new flat-screen TVs and free WI-FI.
In 2013, Mahoney’s introduced their Vassar Room, a venue that caters to all kinds of social events and features an interactive murder mystery dinner theatre presented by the Acme Mystery Theater Group.
The atmosphere at Mahoney’s gets particularly lively in the evening, especially from Thursday through Saturday when live bands and other events are hosted regularly. The pub’s most celebrated occasion is St. Patrick’s Day, which begins each year at 6 am. The festivities include traditional Irish music, bagpipers, Irish step dancers, and a selection of mouth-watering food and drinks.
