Sometimes, a drive down a different road can change one’s life. For the Robibero family, their path led them to the notable Albany post road in the historic Hudson River Valley.
When Harry and Carole Robibero acquired a 42-acre plot of land in 2003, they found an existing winery on the property. Harry’s lifelong passion for both land and wine had deep roots, as he harbored dreams of following in his grandfather’s footsteps and producing exceptional wines. Fortunately, fate smiled upon him sooner than expected.
In 2007, opportunity came knocking unexpectedly when the current winery operating on the premises announced its plans to relocate. At that pivotal moment, Harry, Carole, and the entire Robibero family resolved to pursue their shared passion and realize their dream of establishing a winery.
Embarking on this venture, there were moments when the relentless toil of renovation work, sleep deprivation from long days, strenuous commutes back to Westchester, and endless hours of paperwork made it seem like the challenges would never cease.
Notably, their journey commenced during one of the most severe economic crises the country had ever experienced. While others were conserving their resources, the Robibero family poured their blood, sweat, and tears into making their dream a reality.
Following one’s dreams demands hard work and difficult choices, but they wouldn’t trade their decision for anything.
Their journey has been a source of excitement, challenge, enlightenment, and humility, and it is only just beginning.
